MR. PETER M. KIMURWAINDEPENDENT NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Peter Kimurwa serves as an Independent Director and the Chair of the Audit & Risk Committee for WPP Scangroup PLC. He is a distinguished governance and strategy professional with over three decades of executive and board leadership experience.
His extensive board career includes serving as Chairman of Old Mutual Investment Group East Africa and holding leadership roles at Centum Investment Company PLC, General Motors East Africa, and the Development Bank of Kenya. Peter's executive experience is equally robust, having served as CEO for the Industrial and Commercial Development Corporation (ICDC) and held senior positions at companies like East African Breweries, British American Tobacco, and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
He is particularly interested in governance, organizational effectiveness, institutional resilience, leadership development, and the role of boards in creating sustainable organisational performance. In addition to his governance and advisory work, Peter is an executive educator and writer whose interests include leadership, institutional stewardship, and the evolving challenges facing organizations in a rapidly changing world.
Peter holds an MBA from INSEAD, is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K), and is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program offered jointly by Strathmore Business School and IESE Business School.
